Wow! here I am Blogging! My stomach is jumping, i guess i'm always nervous in new surroundings, even if nobody else is around! I have to thank my daughter, Hannah, for introducing me to this site and giving me the opportunity to be part of a canvas. THANKS HANNAH! I'm looking at this like the beginning/new beginning for my artists life. Almost a year ago I graduated with an AFA from the Corcoran. The 41/2 years it took me were the most fun, the most inspiring and almost the most exhausting of my life. Raising children is the most exhausting. But once I got the degree I plunged into a 3 month spiral of near despair and lots of tv. I watched Sex and the city non-stop, not the worst thing a person can do, but not very productive! Finally pulled it together and took a drawing class, actually i signed up, paid and only went 3 times. I just didn't feel very artistic... then I thought i should get a job and spent a lot of time on craigslist before coming to my senses. I couldn't get a job anyway, Having been at home with kids for almost 20 years, I have no experience! FINALLY...I signed myself up for the WPA artfile which is a very coool artists online database. I was having a hard time uploading my files so I called the office for help....AND asked if THEY needed any help. They did!!! So now I am a permanent volunteer there. It's lots of fun, I'm learning about the other side of the art world and it's given me the motivation to start making art again. Okay that's my intro!

WOW! What an interesting intro! I really related to a lot of what you wrote. I'm always nervous filling out things like this - probably one reason I haven't done so yet. But yours has spurred me on! Thanks!
